Mrs Martha Attard-Ferrito

Mrs Attard-Ferrito has worked with people presenting with a range of psychological problems including severe mental health problems for the past 10 years. Her experience includes general practice in mental health care (NHS, private and charities) as well as experience in a secure hospital setting. She is currently employed part time as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist working predominately with individuals suffering from complex and serious mental health problems, in a Secondary Care setting.

As an advocate of dynamic, time limited and collaborative therapy, Mrs Attard-Ferrito is focused on working with the specific needs of the individual client. She specialises in trauma, anxiety, depression and other mental health and adjustment issues. Martha works predominantly using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), but integrates other therapeutic approaches when required. She is also trained in Eye Movement and Desensitation Reprocessing (EMDR) which she can use to treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) cases as well as a range of anxiety disorders.

Her clinical approach is to safely and gently work with the client towards their emotional and mental wellbeing. She believes that each one of us is unique and therefore her aim is to tailor the therapy to the individual’s needs by employing a myriad of techniques. Mrs Attard-Ferrito is dedicated to the clients she sees and her vision is to help clients feel empowered to improve aspects of their life and to make the choices that make the most sense for them.

Mrs Attard-Ferrito is committed and passionate about ongoing learning and she is currently working on her doctoral research which focuses on growth and resilience following trauma. Her research study compliments her interests with people affected by significant psychological trauma and loss.
