Mrs T Turner
Mrs Turner has over 23 years of experience as a qualified pharmacist with special qualifications, experience and specialism within the field of psychopharmacology. Mrs Turner enjoys helping people to get the most from their medication and advises them on how this can be incorporated with other elements such as healthy eating, physical activity and stress reduction to achieve the best outcome of the individual.
She enjoys working with people to determine the best medication which will fit into their lifestyle by providing individualised information to people about their medicines to get the most out of their prescription.
Mrs Turner explains that the interplay of changes in body chemistry from medication, stress levels and lifestyle elements can be complex which can each have an influence on the physical and mental wellbeing, therefore this can affect medication choice.
According to Mrs Turner: “I enjoy working in areas where there are physical health aspects that challenge the choice of medication to help mental health. The two areas intertwine to deliver a complex area of choice of the best medication. This may be in areas such as pregnancy, breastfeeding, kidney, heart or liver problems where these are major factors in getting the right balance in one’s prescription.
I especially appreciate working with people living with psychosis, depression, bipolar disorder and dementia. I like working with older people who have lived experience that often have other health concerns and how this affects their mental health”.
